moved to sherriped.tumblr.com

thanks wordpress, you are certainly one brilliant blog server.

but im attracted to tumblr. somehow.

you never know, i might return to sherriped.wordpress.com

always have this thing for arts-and-crafts.

i went for drawing classes when i was young. didnt learn things like piano or ballet, but i learnt chinese calligraphy and balloon sculpturing. instead of taking up taekwando or abacus classes, i went for comic drawing courses.

so i always have this thing for artsy fartsy stuffs (not plays or cheem scripts, but more of decorations, drawings).

a friend of mine recently showed me this website which inspired me to buy stacks of construction papers – www.colormekatie.blogspot.com

chk out my lastest decoration on my really old TV!

my 1st attempt!

next decor pit – the wall behind my bed!

cheers to finally finding something to do before i start work :)

my university life was quite haps i guess.

since i stayed in a hall for 4 years, and i took part in lots of random stuffs in school.

people often said “woah shiok la, go overseas again” when i went for those overseas things.
when i was chosen to go for one, yes, first thing on my mind – WOOHOO yessss.

but as i looked back. i really wished that i would at least won 1 of them (i went for 1 local one, and 2 overseas one, and did not win champs for any). at least there would be something which i could be damn proud of.

but sadly. the best i have gotten was only an international 3rd placing. and it was a sore-winning. why a sore-winning? people might say im a sore loser, but seriously, till now i still dont freaking understand why we did not get the placing which we wanted. the more i think about it, the angrier i get.

cause that was the only chance for me to hold my head up high and said “DAMN YOU GUYS, we got it. WOOHOO.”

it hit me yesterday when i got to meet the dean during a lunch meet-up for all those who went overseas for those things. my prof pulled me over to the dean cause i won something. but when i was introducing my name to the dean, he was like waiting for me to say which placing we got. when i said “3rd”, he went “wow, great job, congratulations.”

but i was thinking, “thats it. 4 years, and all i have gotten was a international 3rd placing.”

GG.

as you can see, i am always hungry for achievements. hope that this would become a drive for me when i start working.

and let’s hope it will fit nicely this time round.

one of the pieces i bought the last time didnt fit AT ALL! but i was able to sell it to another person in the end :)

i bought it cause it is so easy to wear, and it comes in pants!! WOOHOO!

have yet done any planning for the trip, but accommodation, flights and such are more or less settled.

so for the next 2 weeks, i will do my research diligently and list out things to buy in korea.

korea is known for its cosmetics and skin care products. so i guess stocking up for my working life would be a good idea.

so far, top on my list is Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream

apparently, the entire google page is filled with reviews for this product. and according to the reviews, it is like LEGENDARY. it is selling for SGD36.50-45.90 in Singapore. so anyone who wants me to buy this for them msg me ya!

i should probably consider buying a bulk home, and then sell them in korea. should i?

next item on the list – Face Shop’s Raspberry Roots Collagen Eye Patch

it is also another legendary product. heard reviews from friends, and apparently this product works wonders on puffy eyes. retailing at SGD7.90-9.90 per pair (since you have 2 eyes) in Singapore.
so people who harvest eye bags underneath their eyes, do let me know if you need some of these ya!

*all requested purchases subjected to luggage space and mood. only requests with prior cash transfers will be considered!

other than these 2 items, i am looking at stocking up for the respective categories as listed below:

  1. make-up (intending to hunt for cosmetics for nude make-up)
  2. cleansing products (full routine – cleanse, toner, moisturizer)
  3. facial masks

i absolutely hate having things on my face and i am a strong believer of natural beauty and skin care. yes i only use Clean&Clear facial cleanser (that’s it) for my daily skin care. so i think it’s time to adopt the full cleansing routine if not i will look like crap soon, given the daily stress and air-conditioning treatment. GG. i am no fan of make-up, cause i am simply too lazy to put them on and i like the “eh you should put on make-up more often” kind of praises (kidding).

BUT i have to admit, it is important to put on some make-up during certain occasions. furthermore, as age ruthlessly slows down the renewal process of our skin, walking out of the house with no make-up scares people. i have totally lost count of the number of times people said to me “are you sick? you look super pale!” or “did you just wake up?”. hahaha. pretty hilarious. but since i am about to step into the working world, i cant have those remarks anymore SIGH. imagine your boss saying that to you. WAH GG TTM.

so, am hoping to spot easy-to-put-on-and-dont-make-me-look-like-some-wayang kind of make-up. an example of what fits this criteria – BB cream! It’s like.. WHAM! you are ready to go out! and i will still look like myself (not some girl with wayang face. totally cannot stand those kind of make-up. have no idea why they even thought of putting so much stuffs on their face. poor face!)

and i know (for sure) that i would have at most 5-10 minutes to put on make-up before i go to work every morning, an easy-to-apply make-up is required.

anyone has any recommendations???

i need to start going out soon and window shop at Missha, Etude House, Face Shop & Skin Food. Shop like a mystery shopper, and secretly jot down the prices in my brain. and in korea, i would rely on my powerful brain to gauge the worthiness of buying the products in bulk and lug them back to singapore. woohooo.

other than vain stuffs, i look forward to buying alot of cheap clothes in korea. apparently, clothes in korea are cheap (comparable to those in BKK) and are of excellent quality. i am crossing my fingers, praying hard that clothes in korea are not all pink, lacy and girly. i will faint immediately. please dont disappoint me! so far, only clothes in US appeal to me. think forever 21 and AE. think plain, basic, and classy. that’s my kind of clothes. so PLS PLS PLS give me some of those!

ok i am talking (i mean typing) as if i have money falling from the sky.

as i have been telling people, my 1st paycheck will be negative – due to massive cash outflows even before work starts.

think Study LOAN, SEP LOAN, Grad trip LOAN, ‘Parents LOAN’ (as in allowance and such)…

think Mobile phone BILL, Credit card BILL (yes, im so going to sign up for citibank card when i start working), Utilities BILL

think daily transportation EXPENSE, CBD lunch EXPENSE, indulgence EXPENSE

omg. let me introduce to you my 3 favourite friends when i start working.
meet LOAN, BILL and EXPENSE. perhaps i should consider doing up a post on the various financial items to take note when one graduate.

free private wealth lesson – how about that? HAHA

ok digressed. tell me what to buy in Korea ok!

wanted to catch this movie on vday itself, but it was CNY (actually the real reason was because my valentine was overseas, and i was too busy for a movie then).

pretty awesome movie. was expecting a ‘love-actually’ cover, but this movie was awesome in its own way. yes, they had a kid in the movie who was in love too. but other than that, the stories in this movie were closer to reality, in my own opinion.

absolutely love one phrase from the movie,

When you love somebody, you love everything about that person, not just the parts which you love.

and one more phrase which i found super hilarious and sad at the same time,

My closest relationship is with my Blackberry.

pls, dun ever let this happen. this applies to all iPhone, Nokia, whatsoever users.

verdict: watch the movie if you havent. and taylor swift should just stick to singing country songs. and patrick dempsey is still on my boyfriends list.

Book

was contemplating whether i should buy the book. i fell in love with it when i saw it in a shop which was having moving out sale.

original price: 25
sale price: 7++

why not right? and one big reason why i am buying it cause it was on 70% sale! HAHA. kidding.

i love this kind of books. somehow, art and craft books, colorful books with little texts and alot of pictures always attract me. since young. i remembered i bought stacks of drawing books when i was young.

so dear friends, dont be surprise if you see me giving you gifts in post-its. they are EXPENSIVE ok! im so tempted to buy stacks of colorful post-its to make stuffs suggested in the book.

why “the next few years”?
i am assuming that i would get married within the next few years and thus have a new room then.

yes finally a room bigger than the mousehole in KR. finally no need to think about packing when i unpack the stuffs into the wardrobe and such.

but, i still miss the KR room layout. everything was so ergonomically arranged. and not forgetting, the FREEDOM to shift my stuffs here and there. barriers to this freedom now –> the baby’s stuffs and parents’ approval.

yes, i am sharing my room with the baby.

snapshots of my room:

My desk (i am hoping to buy a new desk when i get rich with my 1st month's salary)

Bed by the window (looks ugly still. maybe some curtains would do the magic. but have to ask mum for permission first)

My wardrobe (maybe i should knock of the doors, and call it my walk-wardrobe huh)

The side of the wardrobe with the organiser from Ikea - rocks TTM (but i think i need to throw more clothes away to make way for more awesome clothes)

Right side of the wardrobe - with boxes from Ikea (and i love how empty this side of the wardrobe looks)

other things:

  • post-its, notes, messages and letters from friends – in a box under my bed
  • lovey dovey stuffs – in a box under my bed
  • notes and textbooks – in my brother’s room (he has too many empty shelves and his room is bigger than mine, so far enough)

im pretty satisfied with my room for now. but a few things about my room which i still find irritating:

  • the fan is so out of the way. time to get an air-conditioner (one thing about my family, we have 2 airconditioners, but they are seldom used. maybe once every 2 mths?)
  • my desk is taking up too much space!
  • my room looks so plain!

a.k.a. i want my room to be more homely!!!!!

this would only be possible when money starts rolling in, and with that, i can do whatever i want.

*a very big smiley face*

shi lei de lor. my goodness. im 90% done with my packing :D

felt guilty not doing any farewell gifts for friends, but OH WELL. i shall do it the shinfei-style: write message for people on my blog.

it would be the perfect time to tell people (only those whom i will bother to keep in touch) my blog address.

not an emo post. but i just want to complain

WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYBODY AND WHAT SHOULD I DO?
